Second Platoon
Live from Baghdad, it’s the Punisher Show! Hello Family and friends and welcome to another installment of the Punisher Show! I take great pleasure in announcing to you all the successful closing of the Camp Cropper TIF. As always, the 2ndPlatoon Punishers led the company from the front as the tip of the spear on the final transfer of detainees to Iraqi Control. Esteemed Punishers like Staff Sergeant Bates and Sergeant Henry received Coins of excellence from Major General McQueen for their exceptional professional competency during the intense week-long transfer of detainees. It also brings me great honor to announce that Corporal Burns was awarded the Commanding General of US Forces-Iraq’s Coin of Excellence by General Austin, for his superior efforts and determination to accomplish the detainee operations mission here at Camp Cropper. Corporal Burns, you are an example for us all; we salute you.
In addition to the honors bestowed upon our great Punishers, the Army saw fit to promote now Staff Sergeant Bates and now Sergeant Brasher. The Platoon is proud of both these Punishers and look forward to seeing them grow as leaders.
As we come to a close here at Camp Cropper, we prepare to assume duties as “the muscle” at Al Asad Air Base, where we will be providing force protection from any external or internal threat.
As the month ends, my time as Punisher 6 has come to a close. I’ve spent 18 months in this platoon with your husbands and wives, sons and daughters, and it hurts to have to say goodbye to my brothers and sisters. But I leave 2ndPlatoon in the capable hands of Punisher leadership and my highly capable replacement, 2LT Zdrojewski.
