Newsletter: July Pg. 6 - Headquarters Platoon

Headquarters Platoon

The Gators have begun their transition to Al Asad Air Base, but not without some memory-lasting ceremonies first. Even though the Headquarters Platoon is very small, we hold our own in achievements within the Company. This past month, SSG Nunez reenlisted on the 4thof July by raising his right hand and making his commitment to the United States Army once again. Also, the Gators were able to celebrate two promotions of 1LT Lopez to CPT and PFC Larsen to SPC at the beginning of the month. Another memorable moment was when PFC Gargis won the title of Soldier of the Month at July’s board. He showed us what comes from hard work and dedication. After weeks of studying for the board, he rightfully earned his title and weekend pass to Freedom Rest above all MP line platoons.
Now as the month of July comes to an end, we are in transition to our new location. Although, the mission might be different for the line platoons, Headquarters platoon continues to move forward with their jobs of providing support to the company. The Soldiers and NCOs have been working around the clock to ensure the move is strategically planned and executed. Moving an entire company on short notice is not as simple as one may think. Thanks to the support of those to our left and our right, but most importantly, to those back home, we will carry on and work our hardest so we can complete the mission and return home to our loved ones.
